Exhibition Opening: There is Order...
There is Order... an installation by Andrew Lawson opened Tuesday the 4th November. There is order follows the progress of Andy's paintings and daily drawings as they are enlarged, miniaturised, re-interpreted by other artists and finally installed in the gallery. Andy's paintings and drawings reflect everyday influences, the banal, the mediocre, the lost and the treasured, each given the same treatment; simple line drawings, interpreted as paintings, bound into books, enlarged to enormous proportions or shrunken so that you need to look close to see.

Exhibition Opening: Drawn Objectives
Tuesday Night was the grand opening of the gallery and the opening of the drawn objectives exhibition. It was a great night with a really good turn out. Thanks to all who attended and especially to the exhibiting artists Adrian Lawson (Running), Polia Giannoulidis (Is this happiness?), Andrea Williams (Bust, Boobs, Bosom, Breasts) and Elliott Hughes (Darkside). The night was also a good opportunity to show the gallery to those who hadn't seen it and to inspire a little interest in some who might be interested in hiring it for a solo or small group show.

New Work
I have recently received new work by book artist Hiromi Tango. Hiromi's work is overtly intimate in nature. Her intensely constructed books combine found papers, letters, photographs, images from magazines, packaging and found objects, folded and bound tightly so that the viewer must dig through the binding to glimpse private thoughts and emotions in an almost voyeuristic fashion. Each tiny revelation makes the viewer wish to see more whist at the same time fight feelings that her personal space is being invaded.
